As of January 23, the House of Representatives note that it is controlled by Republicans, voted to extend the debt ceiling until May 19, 2013. Thus U.S. markets get higher despite the Apple’s revenue and earnings came in weaker than expected. As a result, while the S&P 500 index rose by 0.15%, reaching 1,494.81, Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed by 0.49%, reaching 13,779.33.
