US Markets, January 18, 2013
As of January 18, in the light of optimistic news about the debt ceiling and higher earnings than estimates (such as General Electric, Goldman Sachs) U.S. markets saw the highest levels since 2007. While the S&P 500 index rose by 0.34% reaching 1,485.98, Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed by 0.39%, reaching 13,649.70.
According to the news, there will be a poll in this week in order to increase the debt ceiling temporarily. Positive news flows related to this poll and possible higher earnings reports will provide us to see the record levels in the U.S markets
